possible to convert manual to power windows

I got a nice set of doors with manual windows. Is it possible to easily make them power using what is there and adding the power motor (of course wiring, but I can handle that). Do the power window motor gear mesh with the existing gear for the manual setup??

Re: possible to convert manual to power windows

The power vs manual pieces are completely different. If you have 77-up doors you can get them from a donor. You can also put aftermarket kits in them.

Lightbulb Re: possible to convert manual to power windows

If the doors are from the same generation as your '85 & i assume thats what your doing this on.

Then its just a swap over of all the regulators and the lock solenoids all of the mount holes for the window reg. and lock solenoid are allready there on the non pwr doors.

The only holes you will have to drill are the pass thru holes in the door for the wiring harness and you can buy a metal hole saw to do that @ home depot get whatever size the other hole is.

I suguest you drill the pass thru hole in the door while its off the truck.

If yor truck is allready equipt with pwr. then you dont have to drill the pass thru holes in the cab or do any of the wiring.

If your window reg's are still mounted with the factory revets than be shure to knock out the center shaft first then drill the head off this will save you alot of time and your sanity.

Good luck.
