What is the difference between 67-68 leaf springs and 69-72 leaf springs? Can I bolt 69-72 springs on a 68 GMC?

67-68 are fatter on the ends, about 3.5 inches and narrow down in the center part to 2.5 inches. (At least they are on my 67K20) 69 & up are about 2.5 inches wide all the way from end to end.

Will 69-72s bolt to a 68? Or are they different widths where the spring bolts to the hanger?

lol, tubings not to expensive, for little pieces anyway. id go with round tubing over a washer pile any day.

That could work. Just thinking because If I got a parts truck I could re-arch the springs on the parts truck and lift my truck up. Only reason why I'm asking. Theres a free 70 Chevy 4x4 about 15 min away from here, so stuff is just kinda whirling through my mind.

I suppose I should call about it.

but tubing should work! or you can just take your leafs off, and flip them pver, then bolt them on, but that f's up the ride a lil.

haha my dad uses me for the excuse to get more trucks mom will be like "why is there another truck in the yard" and dad will say, Drew might need some parts off of it then its ok with mom and dad doesn't get in trouble.

Drew, my family is the exact same way. I could get a complete POS and my mom could care less, but if my dad bought something nice and had it in the dooryard, she'd blow a gasket.

Back on to topic, wil 69-72's work on a 68, without safety issues?

Its more like both of the parents. Dad says there nowhere to put it, and mom complains about any little tidbit of junk. I said we could put it in the woods. That was a no-go.
