best way to paint parts

I just got a load of parts from Teeitup and would like to detail/paint the parts before hand. Some of the parts I have I would like to go with a chassis black, and other I would like to go with the cast metal/gun metal color (not sure if I should paint my pb booster that gold color, or go with black).

My question is this, what is the best way to strip the parts of rust, best paint to use for the desired colors, do I prime the parts first?

Incase it matters, looking to paint a mc, booster, ps. box, and a couple different brackets.

Thanks

Sandblasting can be used on anything that's not mechanical - you don't want to get sand into anything that has moving parts. For the others, pick your stripper and go to it

The Eastwood bomb can stuff isn't bad - clean the parts then follow up with some etching primer and their topcoats. May not be perfect, but pretty darn good and quick to do.

as far as spraycan paint you're much better off going to a local autoparts store or auto body supply store and getting the paint same as eastwoods at less than half the price with no shipping charges

, but I haven't had any luck finding all the cool Cast Blast and fake cad stuff myself. Eastwood definitely rips off for this stuff...but you're paying for the fact that they put it all together in a pretty catalog ;-)

Re: best way to paint parts

I got some parts also from Teeitup recently - I "unriveted", disassembled and stripped everything down, wire wheeled (bench unit and hand held), cleaned with laquer thinner, then hit with primer and then rattle canned. Look good to me and they will be in places I'm not worried about tearing up the finish ('cept the crossmember - just no off roading!)
