transmission won't down shft, please advise

Like the subject says, my transmission won't downshift. When I go around a turn the transmission just stays in high gear and struggles to get back up to speed. Also never shifts into any kind of passing gear. Is there a way to adjust the tranny kick down cable on the carb? The cable's on there, but there's enough slack where the throttle linkage just moves in the groove and never really pulls on the cable. I know the tranny's fine because it was just rebuilt a year or two ago.

Is this a TH350? If so, you can either move the bracket that bolts the cable to the intake, or you can actually put a little nut and bolt in the little grove to where it will pull when you give it throttle.

if you have changed from a 2 brl carb, to 4 brl, they bracket on the intake is different. If none of that has been changed, you should be able to release the lock tab on the top of the cable(just behind the bracket),& the spring will push the cable back. then just open the carb all the way,& push the clip back down(this is assuming 350 turbo). good luck......Al
