It made my truck sound better. I would never put on a dual exhaust system without the H pipe. It equalizes the two sides for a sweet even sound, loudness depends on the mufflers you use.

Dion will try to stop by after work tomorrow. Monday and you can check out my new exhaust system then and let me know what you think then. You'll be able to hear one for yourself!

I just had an H pipe put on my 72. Hedman headers with 3" pipes, Flowmaster 40s and big tips angled behind the tires. It really does make it sound tuned. I love it.

Your low end rumble will sound sweeter than ever! H pipe is the only way to go.

Is there a way to determine where the crossover should be? would it depend on the size of pipe? I heard that you should run new exhaust for about 1/2 Hour, the pipe will darken and that is where the optimum place for the H pipe. If this is true, it would take 2 trips to the muffer shop, who has time for that?
Where does you H pipe fit in your system, how far back from the end of the collector? Just want to be able to do mine once.

You can paint the pipes with some cheap paint, then run it a while to see where the paint stops burning..... that should be about the right place for the h pipe. with that said, on a street vehicle,i try to put the H pipe just behind the trans crossmember,as i dont need any extra heat under the trans pan,or the headaches of trying to remove the pan with a pipe in the way. ......Al
