Question 700r4

I have come up with a deal for a 89 700r4 out of a van. It is going to cost me $100.00. Is that a good deal?

$100.00 for a 700-R4 is a very good deal. Now how many miles is on and make sure you do all the upgrades to it before placing it in the truck. Have all the Corvette upgrades done to it and put a external cooler on it also. I have mine running throught the radator and a external with over 200,000 miles on it.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: 700r4

Only issue I can see with the 89 transmission is the speedo stuff. 89 tranny has a 40 pulse reluctor ring instead of the good old cable drive speedo stuff.

Maybe you can switch it with a cable drive tailhousing? I dunno

Re: 700r4

V8 or V6 tranny ? You should use a V8 tranny behind a V8 motor. The V6 trannys are light duty.

Re: 700r4

Good price for core, but like said above, upgrade to '92 and up pump and servo and maybe go with hydraulic lock up. Been running mine that way for 2 years, and it has lasted longer than electrical lock up. Jeff.

Re: 700r4

It's worth 100 as a core anywhere, even if it doesn't work.

The van will still have the normal speedo cable setup, rather than the electric VSS like trucks used.
