Collection of lowered truck pics and info?

There is a lot of talk here about lowering your truck and how low to go, how to do it, what size wheels tires, etc....

Perhaps we could make a sticky with pics of peoples trucks, and the info for it.

It can be tough to decide how low to go and such, esp. without one to look at.

I have searched and searched, but have not been able to find anything like this. And with all the mags showing newer models, they are not a good source, if an older truck is in it, it is usually bagged anyway.

So, anyone care to share?

Thumbs up Re: Collection of lowered truck pics and info?

There use to be a sticky on this but it didn't include pic's it was more about what parts to ues how huch they cost and who mfg. them but now it's gone for some reason.

I think it a good idea. I'll play

This is a static 3/4 drop
3" Belltech drop spindles up front stock coils
Stall 4" flip kit out back
Wheels are 15x10, 4"b/s Front 265/50/15, Rear 275/50/15

Re: Collection of lowered truck pics and info?

Yes ,its a good idea in my opinion because it can save money and pain if there´s a wrong decision!I´d like to run larger wheels (17´s) to have nice filled wheelwells without any rubbing or removing innerfenders or something like that!Since my truck isn´t on the streets yet i cant do any tests on that!
So it would be nice to have collected infos and pics to help do it the right way!
I actually have a belltech spindle/spring/flipkit setup wich should lower the truck 4 inches in front and 6 inches in the back. The wheels are 15x10 with 255/50 Bfg´s in front and 295/50 out back. The leafspring is very stiff so i´d like to take some leaves out and have some airbags bags for a smoother ride.
A complete bag setup would bust my budget and have the local tecnical observation company give trouble with the streetlegality. That is why i don´t want to work on my frame too!(C-notch)
These problems are limited to Germany i think!?

Cmon guys! There are over 100 posts in the 67-72 board in a thread like this. It has also been made a sticky cause someone is always asking about drop and wheel size. Show us what you got!

Re: Collection of lowered truck pics and info?

Here is my 85 C10. I have it lowered with all Western Chassis stuff. It sits at 4/6, with 2.5" spindles/1.5" coils up front. Out back I used a flip kit and shackles. My wheels are American Racing Torq Thrust II's, 17x8's, with 4" BS. The tires are Nitto Extreme NT-450's. 255/50's all the way around.

this truck had a 4/6 drop with 20x8.5's and 275/30/20's out back and 245/5/20 up front. dont know the specifics on the drop spindles and springs and such. but had no clearance issues.

Re: Collection of lowered truck pics and info?

No drop here, just some semi wore out springs. Wheels are 15x8 on the front and 15x10 on the rear, tires are 275/60 15 on all four corners. Hoping to see some drop on it soon.

It does look a tad high in the back in that photo. Must be the way it's sitting on the driveway. It sits dead level if on level ground.

Edit. If this pic looks doctored it's because it is. I removed a C-band satellite dish I had in the yard, which has since been taken down. Without removing it from the pic it looked like my truck had a satellite dish mounted to the bed.

Oh, one more thing. Please folks, resize your photos to where we all don't have to scroll sideways to read this thread. Sorry to whine, but this is a gigantic pet peeve of mine.

Thanks Mike.

How does it ride?

Re: Collection of lowered truck pics and info?

Everything I have for drop components are made my Western Chassis. My shocks are Edelbrock IAS. I used stock length shocks. The front worked OK with the 1.5" springs. The back I used shock extenders with them. The ride is pretty good for a dropped truck with polyurethane bushings throughout. Any time we tighten everything up so it will handle better, of course the ride quality will suffer. Urethane will not ride as good as rubber since you don't have the cushion effect of the rubber, but the handling is outstanding.

see ten, no big deal. I guess I'm just getting old and set in my ways.

How low to the ground is that bad boy? When you get a chance could you measure from the rocker panel to the ground? Or could you measure from the fender lips to the ground? The red truck I posted is going to be lowered but we don't know how much. It's hard to pick what you want when you don't know how low it is going to sit. Sometimes angles of pictures make these trucks look lower or taller than they really are.

Re: Collection of lowered truck pics and info?

Sure.

Fender well lips are at 27-1/4" on the front and 25-5/8" on the rear. Rocker panel at the bottom of the pinch weld is 8-1/4" front and 8-3/4" rear. I need to check my tire pressures as it's been awhile.

Damn Mike, that's crazy low! My lips are at 28" all around, with a 28" tire...but then again, with the rear at the same level as the front, the front is ACTUALLY 1" lower (raked) because that's just how our trucks are made ( )

What lowering components did you use to get the level drop?

Re: Collection of lowered truck pics and info?

Thanks Slonaker, but I was asking DroppedZ84 not SwervingErvin. They got different heights out of their drops, so I’m assuming they used different stuff to do it.

My mistake. I thought you were referring to Swervin's since the post you quoted was referencing it.
