Lowering question 84 swb
This pic is from 73-87.com. Is this home made or retail kit? I am new to lowering and am looking for easy(not cheap/unsafe) solutions to lowering. What is the best way to go about lowering and leveling an 84? I figured I'd start out with the basics and maybe if I like it go to air bags. The front seems pretty straightforward pull out the springs and put the bags and cups in. What do you normally do in the rear? Sorry for all the questions. I just want to do this right and not be rolling in a kevorkian special.

Re: Lowering question 84 swb
Looks like Western Chassis stuff.
Like you mentioned, the front is pretty straight forward. The easiest way to bag the rear is to remove some leaf springs & add 'helper' bags to compensate. The best is prob switching to a 4-bar (link) or something similar.

Re: Lowering question 84 swb
That's called a flip kit with c-notch. It gives about 6 inches of rear drop and is completely reliable and safe. It actually doesn't even affect the load carrying capacity of the truck, as the springs are unmodified.
