Where the floor meets the rocker?

My floor pan patch panel seems to be too wide from the cab mount hole to the kick panel area. It seems to me that it couldn't be as far out as it is (about an inch) so I must be trying to fit it wrong. Does anyone have a good close picture of where the rocker panel meets the floor pan? My truck was too rusty to tell what that area looked like, so I'm just guessing at the moment. Any pictures at all would be helpful. Thanks!

You are not the first person I have heard that said the floor pan doesn't fit right. Makes me really concerned about doing my floor this spring. Can't find a pic that will work for ya so here's a ttt at least.

Have you checked out project Penicillin? There are some great pics there of them replacing the drivers side rocker \/

Re: Where the floor meets the rocker?

You want to try for about a 3/8" gap. Anything over that makes it hard to screw in the threashold carpet plate! Now with that being said they normaly fit up at about 1/2" to 5/8" (when using after market stuff) and what you can do is weld a small flat tab out into the space for the screws from the threashold cover to grab. The threashold plate will cover over 1 1/2" but try to keep it to under 1" for ease of instalation down the road. But your 1" gap will work so don't worry to much about it. Just remember to seam seal everything (but the drain holes in the pinch welt) when done!

Re: Where the floor meets the rocker?

I think I worded it wrong. The floor pan patch seems too wide. when the door side of it is pressed up to the rocker panel (like, pressed right to it, no gap) the cab support hole still needs to move towards the door about an inch. It looks as if they made it too wide in between the rocker panel and the cab support hole. I may just cut it and re-weld it together now that I have the proper measurements and pictures from project penicillin. Thanks for the help so far guys, and hopefully someone else is has had the same problem as me and can tell me what they did. For the record, I have no idea what brand the patch is. It was included when I bought the truck and theres no name on it. It's not a triplus or goodmark, as it has different paint on it than I've seen them use.
