Re: Different! 68 C50 Crew Cab
20k back in 68? Can anyone confirm that? If not, I'm going to have to say BOGUS. odd looking truck, maybe slightly cool, I would want more than a little 350 too, that or less, I'd rather have a 292 than a small block in something like that.

Re: Different! 68 C50 Crew Cab
If that truck was $20k back in '68, it must have had one very, very expensive rig of some type on the backend of it. Something a lot more expensive than a flatbed.

Re: Different! 68 C50 Crew Cab
That's original.
Converted after production, but sold through the GM dealers, like the moden convertables... sold as if GM did it. Last edited by Longhorn Man; 02-20-2006 at 08:45 PM. |

Re: Different! 68 C50 Crew Cab
I kinda like it. Convert it over to a big 4x4 rig and you are set to go anywhere with the whole famn damily.

Re: Different! 68 C50 Crew Cab
Now that is cool. But bear in mind this is coming from a kid whose dad built him a '68 extend a cab and whose dad built a '78 Ford Econoline extend a cab and a '52 IHC snub nose crew cab so I have a warped sense of reality.

Re: Different! 68 C50 Crew Cab
T10 four-speed in a two ton truck???? That doesn't sound right at all, unless its a different T10 than what I'm thinking of (musclecar one).

Re: Different! 68 C50 Crew Cab
I'd bet it's a SM-465, the guy just thinks that all 4-speeds are T-10s.

Re: Different! 68 C50 Crew Cab
Hope it goes to a good home. That has to be pretty rare to have a decent shape truck with that cab on it. That's got to be unique now days.
da-burb hit the nail on the head. 4x4 conversion would be pretty cool on there.

Re: Different! 68 C50 Crew Cab
Cool truck! And that ain't no 350 in there. If it is, it has a 283/327 intake on it. You can see the oil fill tube by the radiator hose sticking out the top.

Re: Different! 68 C50 Crew Cab
1968 Dealer Data Book says the engines available where a 292, 327, and a 366. The 350 was not available in 1968.
From the pictures of the truck engine and the book engine, I venture to say it is a 327.

Re: Different! 68 C50 Crew Cab
If you read the ad posted on ebay you will see it says 350 crate engine.
It does not say original engine. |
