Vent Window Seals?

Hey guys!

my 77's vent windows leak like crazy, and are driving me nuts. Is there anything I can do to make them seal properly again? I was thinking about just siliconing them shut, since I never use them anyways...

Re: Vent Window Seals?

That is the easiest thing to do if you don't ever plan to use them again. The PO on mine stuck some foam, adhesive backed weather stripping on the sealing surfaces. It might help. I have also heard that putting a dime or other thin coin under the latch will make it latch tighter.

Re: Vent Window Seals?

the dime or the thin coin probably would work better than the paper towel I have folded up under the latch, lol.

Re: Vent Window Seals?

I did the "never use these anyway" silicone treatment. Seems to be working so far!
