They didn't believe me LOL!!
Some guys at work needed some plywood from another store. I offered to haul it back since I was going to that same place for a meeting. They told me that I couldn't since it was too heavy of a load. I said just tell me what it was. It ended up being 27 sheets of 3/4 treated plywood. Heavy for sure even with regular plywood but add the treated process to it then the weight adds up. So I drove to the meeting and told the guys to load me up after the meeting was over. The guys were skeptical that it would hold that much. The lift said it was 2400 LBS. total. Now the truck has 3/4 ton suspension and it was put to the test today. Look below to see how low it was.
BTW: The meeting was 130 miles away one way

Re: They didn't believe me LOL!!
Yeah it is. They made them to be a 5/8 ton rating to keep from having to be compliant with the Feds smog laws in the late 70's and ealry 80's. Anything over 1/2 ton didn't need catylatic covneter etc. But the feds later came back and that was the end of the Big 10 and GMC Heavy Half.

"Low-ri-der, rides a little low-wah"
Done that myself with 2800 lbs of retaining wall brick. In my K10 1/2 ton. But, only about 15 miles and NO sharp turns.

why didn't you push the load to the front of the bed. It would drive a lot better that way

Re: They didn't believe me LOL!!
That there is a "blevit". I can't BELIEVE IT hauled that load lol. But, it's like when I hauled about 25-30 railroad ties in my 1/2 ton. It has 3/4 rear springs, but I think someone added them instead of it being a Big 10.

Re: They didn't believe me LOL!!
It was probably a little overweight. The big 10's with a V8 have a gvwr of 6100lbs I think. Truck should weigh about 4000lbs with fuel, driver, ect, so there's about 2000lbs of cargo capacity available.

Re: They didn't believe me LOL!!
Oh, you still got plenty of suspension left . Reminds me of when I worked for a local industrial supply store, loaded an order of 20 60LB bags of sac-rete into the back of an S-10. Now that thing was squatting.

Re: They didn't believe me LOL!!
Mine looked like that when I hauled a load of gravel to my old driveway. I couldn't believe how heavy gravel was. I only went about 10 miles, felt like I was riding a wheelie the whole way.
Kudos on the long haul!
