Bench Seat Blazer?

Did these years come with a bench seat? I finally got a 72 Blazer and I would MUCH prefer a bench seat in it instead of buckets. If so, are they the same as standard trucks or are they Blazer specific? Thanks, Mike

Re: Bench Seat Blazer?

I have never seen one, but it would be best with a suburban seat since the back of the seat would be finished off with material. You just couldn't access the back of the blazer. A good modern seat would be anything out of an extended cab truck pre third door access so the seat would flip and slide forward enought to gain access to the back.

Re: Bench Seat Blazer?

I saw one posted on here once w/ a set of Buddy Buckets mounted in it,
didn't look all that bad, and I also agree w/ both of the comments above.

Re: Bench Seat Blazer?

I know you could not have ordered one but I thought someone had posted a promo for the first blazer or a speciality blazer. It was red and I thought had a bench seat. The other thing about putting in a factory bench is the holes are wider than the buckets. I am putting floor pans in and had to replace the ridge that the seat sits on. I got a patch from a pickup thinking it would be easy to cut out and replace. With good rockerboxes. would be an issue of getting to the brackets

Re: Bench Seat Blazer?

leave the buckets and get a flip up center console. that way you still have normal access to the back, and the 3rd seat capability.

Re: Bench Seat Blazer?

Cool picture Jim. I am definitely going to go with SOME kind of bench seat. I want the chicks to be able to sit REAL close. Aw, who am I kidding, I just want to be able to seat six. I will figure SOMETHING out. Thanks for the insight guys. Anybody need some buckets? I don't even have it HOME yet, I better wait til then to offer them up for trade, huh?
