Sheet metal, Blazer vs truck
This weekend, after patiently waiting 10 years watching my Blazer sit and slowly deteriorate in the elements, I finally started tearing it down.
I took out the carpets, seats and padding. The previous owner had told me the truck came from Arizona, but I doubted it due to the amount of rust. I found a matchbox from a place called Guantanamera's in Tempe on South Mountain, so maybe it's true. Regardless, the truck has some problems. The rear wheel tubs are rotted out at the bed floor, as is a little of the bed in that area. The floor pans are pretty bad at the doors, and the driver's side pan is just plain bad all over. Rockers are gone on both sides and it's starting to get into the pass side rr quarter panel. Rocker boxes appear real solid, but I guess I'll know better when I get the floor pans out. Doors need work, but I think I might be able to save them. Tailgate's gone. I'm sure the further I get into it, the more I'll find. So here's my question: What are, and where are (if any) the differences between the pickup and blazer floor pans? Rear wheel tubs? Bed floor? Any recommendations on where to order sheet metal, or places to stay away from? Any pointers on sheet metal replacement are appreciated also. Thanks in advance for any input. |

I ordered 2 complete bedsides and a tailgate from Goodmark Ind., was very happy with the quality and overall fit.
