radiator support bushings for 67 or 68

Does anyone have a picture of a radiator support bushing for a 67 or 68. I am trying to put a 67 support on a 71 frame and want to make sure i purchased the correct bushings.

The support cushions/mounts are the same for 67-72, These are on GMC Pauls site.

In case you didn't know, you cannot use the 67/68 radiator core support with 69-72 fenders/hood.

They 67-68's are thinner than 69-72 BUT they dont fit in the frame holes for a 69-72 the 67-68 have smaller holes in the frame

Wont the frame holes on the 71 be too large for the 67 bushings ?

Yes. You will need to weld the holes up to be smaller in order to use the 67-68 mounts.

Re: radiator support bushings for 67 or 68

Okay - let's settle this one for once and for all.

I know the diameter of the 67/68 bracket is smaller than the 69/72 bracket. I have not seen any difference in the mounting area of the different year core supports - i.e. built up or stepped down or anything. I also have not noticed any difference in the placement of the brackets between 67/68 and 69/70.

That's not to say there isn't any difference but I just have not seen any.

I believe you should use the correct bushing for whatever frame bracket you have.

If anyone knows of a difference please post it here. This has come up before and I would just to resolve it so we don't have to guess anymore.

Thanks for your comments and thoughts on this - Bob

Re: radiator support bushings for 67 or 68

the only difference is the thickness of the bushing. the mounting tab on the frame should be the same(at least it is on my 68 frame). The 67-68 mounts just rest on top of tab, thet don't mount like the cab bushings.

Re: radiator support bushings for 67 or 68

I got into this when I decided to put a 68 clip on my 71 C10.
When I start to trail fit-up the clip I kept having problems, that's when I noticed that some vendors make different core support bushings for 67-68 that those for 69-72. I know the LMC catalog shows the same bushings for 67-72. I also have seen the difference between the frame horns for the 67-68 and 69-72, the 69-72 having the larger diameter holes. Do the holes in my 71 need to be welded-up to make a smaller diameter hole, so that I can use the 67-68 core supp bushings which are a thinner thickness if I remember correctly. Regards

YES

The fenders will not line up correctly with the thivk 69-72 core support mounts.
