I see that it doesnt have a tach dash, so I would go no higher than 2500 myself.

Re: Ebay Blazer Prices!!!!!!

Thats about right as far as price, I've been watching them for over a year on ebay, anything any good usually brings $6500 or more.

I was mainly talking about the professional bodywork in the closeup pic of the door. Maybe I should have kept my mouth or keyboard shut.

Seems high, wouldnt go higher then $2,500 cuz it has no tach dash... ??!?!?!

are you guys for real? What do you think 1st gen blazers should go for... $1500? please

Edit: I agree, as far as the description goes and the pictures.... the seller probably went a little over board.... but seriously... it doesnt look like a POS, and is a 1st gen blazer.... that alone should get it atleast as much... seems reasonable to me too

I'm sure my blazer wouldnt be worth $200 for most of you..

It's gotta be the matching air-cleaner/valve cover/master cylinder combo...

I'm not surprised by the price though.

Re: Ebay Blazer Prices!!!!!!

Reguardless of the "pro body work" - if you can make sure there isnt anything hidden... and it has :
Quote:
-Professionally rebuilt motor (20K miles on new motor)

-New from LMC bumpers, front and rear

-All new door handles, interior and exterior

-New gauge bezel and all lights work

-New window crank handles and new window roller mechanism

-New carpet front and rear included, not installed.

-All new weather-stripping

-New windshield

-New battery

-New alternator

-New dash pad

-New glove box

-New cigarette lighter

-New armrests

-Good tires

-New front leaf springs

-New exterior trim

-New body mounts

-Newer front seats included, not welded in
those parts alone are probably close to if not more then the current price

I think i've seen worse before on ebay

Hey man, brain farting is permitted. Well as long as you pay the dues (25$ ). I agree the prices are high compared to 1972. By todays standards the prices are fair.

Re: Ebay Blazer Prices!!!!!!

The rocker panels and doors fit like you know what. The bodywork inside of the door is probably the worst patch job I have seen in a while. If you look at the Blazer from the front you can see where the driver's seat is crooked in the Blazer. I wouldnt give much more than 2500 hundred for it. I gave 4000.00 for my 72 CST 2wd with NO rust what so ever. Rebuilt 350 running and driving. I was a dumb butt for tearing it down and doing a frame off.

Re: Ebay Blazer Prices!!!!!!

Wow, that has to be the worst work on a door i've ever seen! It's not worth that money in my opinion. Just think of how the rest of the work was done if they can call that "pro bodywork". How much would it cost to go back and fix all the screw ups?

My 72 Blazer was a daily driver when I found it in the local paper for $1500.00
I think the green ebay mobile with the crazy captain seats and backside bondo door is priced to high for me but I'm Glad to see that someone is willing to pay that much for something I own.

Re: Ebay Blazer Prices!!!!!!

a good door is easy enogh to find. i have 5 or 6. as an owner of 2 1st gens i support inflation. i think these trucks are priceless. they arent gonna make anymore. the garbage being sold today is shameful. at this time in history and with the technology available, trucks should absolutely outlast thier financing terms. it seems obvious repair costs are designed to increase as the interest is paid off with the intention of forcing the purchase of a new vehicle. if the american auto industry had continued designing cars like they did before the 70's with our current level of technology i bet we could have 1000000 mile trucks that could be rebuilt with like 1 wrench.
everytime i see someone question the value of classic cars i think of what people routinely pay for h2's and those retarded escalades.
sorry i felt like a rant

i wonder what a 2006 escalade will look like in 36 years

Re: Ebay Blazer Prices!!!!!!

I paid $1500 for my blazer in 1981. Under the advice of my mechanic father who is so tight with a penny when it comes to paying for cars that abe lincoln screams. So do an inflationary dollar calulation on what I paid for mine. Example in 1987 I could by a monte carlo SS for 9,000 or a 69Z 28. Choose the monte its today worth 4-5 grand. 69Z28 is worth no less than 20 grand. I agree with there being blazers that are trash. but when you look at the number produced and available in relation other classic. Muscle cars and so on its right there with them. These are the most desireable trucks ever built. So put that into perspective. Plus everyone here has a blazer and is standing on this side of the fence, has a blazer. If you are wanting one bad enough you will pay what we consider crazy money

Re: Ebay Blazer Prices!!!!!!

UNCLE, I agree totally with your opinion. This is a patched up Blazer that the seller claims to have over $10,000. into?? HELLO---all the new parts he lists are cheap stuff, not the real expensive parts. IF I were looking for another Blazer which I always am---this is not one I would invest in, period. The "professional" body work doesn't show but some putz body work does.

Tim, what this shows is that e-bay is a very dangerous place to buy "restored" vintage vehicles especially if you are not in the know. I think the winning bidder will be very disappointed if he/she has a clue! My .02

Re: Location Location Location

I have had 3-4 of these and have never spent more than $2k, but and it is a big BUT they all had rust. I fixed em up mechanically and left the rust and have sold em all for $4500-5000. I am not a wheeler dealer, I was just working up to the one I have now that is rust free except a rocker. $4500 even shodly fixed up is good money, and it will be worth more as time goes on. At least the new owner can put his feet down without fear of pulling a Fred Flintstone! Yes, one of mine had an interior viewing potal for seeing the pavement as it passed under me!! I wouldn't pay that for it, but I live in AZ and see nicer Blazers a lot, but in the East a "nice" one depends on where you live. More power to em' and my nice mostly rust free Blazer is probably going to be sold on ebay in the next month due to too many projects and no time.

1500-2500 for a blazer like that in Cali??? I must be on the wrong side of Cali Like 70RS said even needing rust work and paint, they still go for $3500-$5000 out here. 1500-2500 would be a fairly straight one with no mechanicals or one with good mechanicals but would need lots of bodywork. Before I purchased my 2nd 3/4 T, I looked for a year (for a Bazer or Jimmy) in all N. Ca ads. Every now and then you'll see a nice running one that needs minor body work at 2500 but would get snatched up real quick. There were a few guys out here looking for straight 4x4 Blazers just to keep the body for a 2wd conversion and sell off the mechanicals and suspension.

It's even hard to come by a clean 73-75 blazer here for under 3500

I don't think it needs to be deleted, the conversation has been civil so far. If it gets ugly, just PM the appropriate mod, or use the little Black/Red "Report-a-Post" link below your name.
