What is the most anyone has seen a Blazer sell for?

I have seen two on ebay go in the mid 20's, one was restored by GM and belonged to a GM bigwig, and the other was a super low mileage, unrestored, and in showroom new condition. I have seen quite a few where they claimed over $50K spent and either did not sell or brought way less that what was put into it. Anybody know of one bringing serious money?

Re: What is the most anyone has seen a Blazer sell for?

I got an email from a guy who said he paid 15,000 for his 72 2wd Jimmy and paid almost 3000 to ship it to his house. The jimmy was perfect just about so I could see why. I have also seen these trucks close on ebay with high winning prices, and wound up seeing the same truck in auto trader with the same location and phone number as the auction had, so some of them could have just bid them up that high on purpose.

With these trucks, especially the 2 wheel drives you can pretty much name your own price. Hell, I'd pay $500 just for a 1970 GMC Jimmy 2wd VIN plate....with no title, body, or frame.

Blazers are rare where I am. I have only seen 4 (1 was a 2WD) on the street in a city of 1 million people.
I paid $9kUS for mine. Shipped it up for just under $2KUS and then put in another $7KCDN. It is appraised at $20KCDN now. It is in very, very good driver condition (excellant condition from 10 feet away). If I crash I get the $ value but not all the labour.
When the top is off I get people walking up and giving me offers of way more than these trucks sells for on ebay. I have had 3 people STALKING me into stores trying to buy mine from $15k TO $19kCDN without even looking at it twice. The phrase "Not for sale" has been used many times.
It drives me nuts to see these trucks not selling on ebay for anything over $8K, so don't use that as your guideline. People are scared of vehicles on ebay.
Look at this one http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...MEWA%3AIT&rd=1
From the pics it's way under price.
Ian's truck on the island has got to be worth serious $$$$.

Not even OUCH!

LUV has one of the cleanest blazers there are hands down.
I and alot of others looked at and wanted badly the deal he got, ouch? No way.

The attention to resto detail on that blazer is unbelievable, absolutely rust free and uber clean.

To duplicate from scratch what he paid 10K for, today would cost you at least 30K, no kidding! Now that would be OUCH!

Re: What is the most anyone has seen a Blazer sell for?

That orange 2 wheel on ebay that is in anderson sc is a converted 4x4, if the VIN they have listed is correct. It is pretty nice though.

BTW, the Jimmy I mentioned above belongs to a member here. I will see if I can find the pic.

A guy from Oregon had a restored jimmy in the Hot August Nights Car Corral last year for $31k. Don't know if he sold it or not.

Re: What is the most anyone has seen a Blazer sell for?

I've seen a few listed in the $30K range and a lot listed between $20-25K.

I get people asking me constantly how much I want for my truck. I decide that I might actually sell it if someone comes up with $20K (a lot more than I paid.) I actually had a guy look at my truck for about 20 minutes last summer and the whole time I was thinking, "Crap, I don't really want to sell it."

There is a 2wd north of me for sale right now for $20K and one in Tacoma for $25k. The later has been modified a lot (It's on collectorcartraderonline.com) with a chopped windshield. Not my taste. The other looks beautiful. Basically stock but lowered slightly. It has upper & lower trim so it has probably been repainted at some point. If I had the $, I'd seriously consider it. I'd even consider selling my '72 to buy it...

Re: What is the most anyone has seen a Blazer sell for?

I paid $14500.00 for mine and though that was a great deal. I was looking for a truck and after going on many wild goose chases, one all the way from AL to Fort Smith, AR with my buddies dually and trailer for a truck that was on ebay. It was not nearly as nice as my blazer and $500 more dollars. I am sure glad I ended up with the blazer. Mine has been ground up restored, no rust, and the under carriage looks new. I guess as of now after wheels, stereo, ordered drop kit, and waiting on interior I will end up with over $20000.00 in it after all is said and done. I don't have or make a lot of money, I got rid of they new truck I was driving and just drive my old 86 K10 and drive the blazer when I go out on the town and to shows. I guess to pay the money for one you have to decide what is more important the new or the old, I love the old.

Re: What is the most anyone has seen a Blazer sell for?

I have right about 15,000.00 in receipts in my 2wd and it is not painted and in a million pieces right now. As anal as I am and buffing the frame and control arms and such, if someone really wanted it when done I will take 50,000.00 for it or they can just keep looking. I know, call me stupid or crazy but when they are that extreme someone has to pay for it.

Re: What is the most anyone has seen a Blazer sell for?

I got my first blazer in 1981 when I was 15yrs old. When I started driving it I filled my console almost 1/2 full with business cards from guys that had a new 71/72 blazer sold them off. They were now in late 30' remembering what they had lost. For as many of us as there are on here with these blazer. There aren't that many around. When I take one of mine out today It reminds me of driving with my Dad in his 29 model A. as a kid. People honking and waving. But I think the 2 wheels are a hot craze like the 32-34 steel body fords became with the rodders. A freind of my Dad's had an original 72 2wd that was mint. Never seen rain. These guys paid $15,000 for and unrestored survivor. What did they do? Gut the interior. Pull the motor and trans. Pull the front clip and swap it. Chop the windshield. Made me sick to think of. But to each his own

Re: What is the most anyone has seen a Blazer sell for?

I don't want anyone to take this the wrong way, im not trying to be a smart butt. How can you have anything that is really nice for less than $15000 these days? Parts are so high and so is everything else. My dad and brother have over $30000 in their camaro's and wouldn't take $50000 for either one. All depends in what you consider nice. I know I will have over $25000.00 in mine after I get started re-doing the motor and trans. These things are just going to keep going up in value so put ever how much you can in one. I had never seen a 2wd blazer until I went to the Grand Run in Pigeon Forges, TN last year. I then got on the ball and started looking and only found four in three months for sale and three were over $20000.00 and over 500 miles from my house. Just my opinion.

Re: What is the most anyone has seen a Blazer sell for?

I won't take any less than $25K for mine after it is finished. if I thought I could get more I would, but I am not sure the market will bear it. I will have $20K-$25K in it not including my labor.

I would never sell mine I waited along time to get mine and ditched the new truck payment to get it the wife thought I was crazy but 350$$ a month for a new car could be put into my blazer if I did not have so many other hobbies...

Re: What is the most anyone has seen a Blazer sell for?

Someone would have to offer me a whoooooooole lot of money for me to even consider letting it go and its by no means a show winner. I've saved all my receipts and did 99.99% of the work myself....I could have almost paid cash for new truck with what it cost to buil my blazer. Anyone that finds a finished or nearly finished blazer for under $15K is getting a steal.
