more legroom! cab floor mod?

anyone know if it would work very well, for the purposes of increased legroom, to make mods to the cab floor? i'd prefer not to go the stretched cab or door way, but more along the lines maintaining stock look. could the cab floor be stretched down or forward a few inches without getting into a ton of firewall issues? at least in the foot-feet area? maybe drop the pan on either side of the trans a few inches, from the fron of the seat forward.
what does this do to cab supports, etc?
thanks

Re: more legroom! cab floor mod?

Some guys are notching out the cab wall behind the rear seat for a couple of extra inches of leg room. They cut along the inner cab wall structure just below the rear window. I cut the spare cab sitting on my trailer & was able to gain about 2~3".

Look for a thread in this forum from 'efabman' on his attempt @ this. It turned out really nice,

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

if you did the toe board, you'd still have the throttle and pedal in the same location.

Using a smaller, make that thinner seat like the 88-94 GM trucks or others will get you a little more becaue it will slide back a hair more. Same way with notching the cab so the seat will slide back an inch, maybe hair more. It's not going to be anything of great significance though. The cab itself is a just smaller than the later model trucks, extended cab or otherwise.
