Why not?

The what's it worth threads that have been posted lately have quickly been edited/erased. Why? I know the rules say that if you don't know the price for a vehicle you are selling, you should do some research. But, at least for my thread that was deleted, I simply wanted to know the value? This board is a great resource, and the members offer excellent input. If I said, "I will never sell my truck on this forum, ever" would it have then been okay? It seems foolish that we can't ask for value of trucks. I've seen people ask for value of parts.

Only my opinion

Re: Why not?

Whats it worth threads are not allowed by non subscribers, mainly because they CAN turn into sales for the person wondering what his or her truck or truck parts are worth. If this happens, then it is not fair for those who do subscribe to sell their truck or truck parts. It also discourages new or dishonest members from coming here to simply make some money for themselves or rip off other board members. I hope this makes sense and I hope you understand. It only takes a few bad apples to ruin it for everyone else.

ilg14 your opinion is appreciated. As Jeff Stated, it's unfortunate that this rule had to be imposed because of people trying to use a "what's it worth" post as way to offer things for sell. It's not something that we "wanted" to do, but something that we were "forced" to do.

Just so you know, if you see someone asking "what's it worth" and it doesn't get closed, that's because they are a subscriber. That is one of the many benefits that you get when you subscribe.
