gas gauge
hi
have a gas gauge that doesn't work--how can i check it it is a 1967 c10 with the standard 3 pod inst. panel with idot lights what does the pink wire do ? the tan ? does the tank wire plug into the fuse block[marked fuel] thank you bob |

What exactly is your guage doing?
Yes, the brown wire goes to that tem on the fuse box. |

hi
i picked up a solid truck that was striped---replaced the front and under dash wiring from another 67 truck--put a new sub. tank and sender in rear---gauge always reads full---grounded the port at fuse block with no diference in reading thanks bob |

If it is right at the FULL, and does not respond to grounding the guage wire, you are probably looking at not having power to the guage...the 12 volts to the back of it.
If it is way past full....like at the 3 o'clock position, you have the fuel sender wire grounded somewhere. Being that you have chainged to another kind of tank, this may make things a little interesting, but troubleshooting should all be the same in reality. |
