Interesting Blazer..has one of the "flower power" packages GM offered at the time, like the "Eagle" package I have seen on a pickup. Not really my thing, but they are unique.

I dont like funky graphics, but over all its a pretty nice blazer, has good options list but no a/c,if it goes for under 2500 it would be a good, but he probably has a high reserve on it.

I can't see paying any extra for a worn out set of ugly decals. You would have to remove them to do any kind of restoration on it anyway. Those decal packages are interesting as a look back at the early '70s, but they were ugly then, and ugly now.

Just my opinion of course .

That`s the first time I`ve seen anyone use that sticker on the glovebox.I can see it loaded with seudo-hippies singing,"we all live in a yellow submarine, yellow submarine,a yellow submarine..."

Looks like it also has the 72 only hooks on it, but not listed in the glovebox?

Re: sport bird blazer ebay, never heard of this one

After looking at the pics I realized why I've never seen one before, the decal package does nothing for the truck at all. It would be nice just resprayed in the original ochre color.

Re: sport bird blazer ebay, never heard of this one

It's an interesting and rare survivor, but there wouldn't be any way to restore it and salvage those decals anyway. If someone's buying it to restore, those decals are toast.

I've never heard of that decal package. I thought the blazers only came with the "feathers" stickers.

Re: sport bird blazer ebay, never heard of this one

That is the same exact decal set as a Feathers, the tailgate should have the Feathers Chevy decal but since that one has a tailgate band it looks like they just used the upper half of it.

Eric, the tow hooks must have been added at the dealer or sometime after purchase. You coudnt get tow hooks from the factory with a chrome bumper.

Re: sport bird blazer ebay, never heard of this one

Well, my take on this is that the decals are rare, and certainly part of the vehicular history of the era.
What makes the debate on this interesting is that the fact that it's ugly, yet it's decals have survived. Right now, most of you seem to agree that it would be wise to take off or eliminate the decals.
All the hubub around the car collector circuit is that our trucks are going to be the next big thing. And this truck has one of the most unusual options that there is. You shouldn't let the fact that it is not currently hip cloud the potential of this Blazer. It would be a blow to history not to at least preserve or replicate the decals, even if they don't seem "cool". What makes a car more valuable is often rarity(not always), rather than what is in style at the moment. I bet a dollar that in ten years, this Blazer with it's outlandish decals will be twice the value of a plain Blazer. Especially if there is documentation that these decals were applied when new.
After all, there was a time when the ugliest vehicles on the road were the 1959 Cadillac, and the '70 Superbird. They were both once rolling jokes, as many people used to say.

Re: sport bird blazer ebay, never heard of this one

well, i had to revive this thread...
yup, i'm the sucker who bought it. drove it home for almost 1-1/2 hours 2 nights ago, no troubles whatsoever.

i'm actually very pleased with it. yes, the graphics are a bit on the homely side, but so is my avatar. they are definitely growing on me, and i plan on keeping them. perhaps i'll have them reproduced or will try to find a set of nos ones that still have sticky and aren't brittle i think it's the ochre color that helps make it look so bad...
the interior is great. front seats need upholstery, carpet is good, no rust anywhere except behind pass. door and driver's side rocker. windshield no rust, tailgate a little bowed, no rust in back, side panels are still there. but, it's brown
single walled top
'72 tow hooks
am/fm factory radio
factory tach
tilt
cst pkg.
funky stickers
working 4wd
runs well, no smoke, no leaks
no a/c but it will by the time heat rolls back around...
nothing has been rebuilt/redone/repainted. paint is in awesome shape and looks to be original. whole truck is very clean, engine bay VERY original.
it's the real mother-deal, ya'll.

will post pics this weekend, when i'll actually be home in the daylight to take them.
