What did you get done?

I had a crazy week at work that I don't care to remember. I'm just glad that it's behind me so I can move on.

This week is the start of my daughters Spring Break. Since she has a big volleyball tournament next weekend we can't go out of town. I decided to take her somewhere this weekend. We took her to Moody Gardens in Galveston, then spent a while at the beach. It still to cold to go in the water, so we looked for sand dollars along the shore.

Today I spent some time working in my yard. Not as much as I wanted because I got called to work. I did get some annuals and perennials in my front beds.

I also added another segment to my article-77 Cheyenne meets Ramjet 350

What did you get done?

Re: What did you get done?

I finally made some progesss on Yeller!

After many non returned phone calls, un-met deadlines, and poor customer service...I have decided to switch painters. I got a referral from a customer I help regularly at my second job, a guy who has been using this particular painter/bodyman for all his old cars. So, Friday I took my bed over to him to begin the bodywork on it. It will be media blasted, getting the stakepockets and both gas doors shaved, cross sill c-sections installed (to clear drop shackles and fuel sender), and of course all other required body work. I will end up spending more money with this guy, but the work will be excellent and I will actually get it finished and back in my possession before I die...something I don't think would have ever happened with the other guy.

Replaced broken wheel stud, new pads. New center cap emblems. Not too bad but it's never enough. Not enough time in the weekend. oh well, ther's always next weekend!

Re: What did you get done?

Put a charger on my battery and got it cranked Saturday. Then layed down about 100-120' of rubber. Made for a nice little smoke show. I'll have to get some pics of it and put up. It's real nice.

Yeah, that kinda ruined that picture. But we've moved and don't live there anymore.

Re: What did you get done?

Picked up a 305 for chhheeeap for the 3/4 ton supposed to have low miles on it. Been collecting parts as time and money allow for the 3/4 I have. Got my rally caps in Saturday for the 1/2 ton.

Hope the 305 turns out to be okay until I have the 350 I'm building for it done. The 350 will be done right for sure I just need to get the 3/4 mobile for now.

Re: What did you get done?

I didn't get much accomplished. I visited the shop & tinkered w/a certain Black 77's a/c system. We were trying to sort through some switch related items & were able to use my truck for verifying functions & unknowns. The end results had everything working properly.

My brother called & wanted to borrow my 74 to move some boxes for a friends reception/party. Although hesitant, he offered up his 05 NightTrain as a good faith deposit so I gave in . I had hopes of a long ride today but mother nature had my head in a vice yet again so it didn't happen. After several attempts of better living through chemicals, the vice was released from my skull & I did go for a brief ride by the lake.

The rest of my weekend was spent tinkering w/a couple of gauge clusters for my 68. I'm swapping out the 2-gauge/3-hole base 'idiot-light' cluster for the standard 5-gauge/6-hole cluster from my RestoRod. This should compliment the 6cyl/3spd to 350/350 drivetrain swap that's currently been underway. There was some swapping & a lot of scrubbing to freshen it all up.

Re: What did you get done?

I started at Super1Foods this week. Worked Wednesday and Friday and tonight (Sunday). It BLOWS, therefore I'm on the market for a different job, I'll quit when I find something else.

Changed my oil and checked my perishables (fluids, filters, belts) on Saturday, I leaked 1.5 quarts in 3.5 months That kinda sucks. Graduate & crate 350 CAN'T come soon enough...

Federal Inspection work for JROTC has been it, otherwise. Since i'm the Battalion Commander, it's all on my shoulders. If we botch this, it's MY picture people see in the hallway. On the other hand, we pull it off just fine, I'll be the one people see for doing well. It's insane.

Re: What did you get done?

I had to work Saturday morning. Saturday afternoon and evening were spent in Austin having dinner with some friends from another board unrelated to trucks. I drove the truck up to Austin (150 miles roundtrip) for it, and the new engine did well.

I spent much of Sunday helping Jim13 pull the transmision from his wife's Dodge Dart. The car has a 318 and headers, so everything is REALLY tight underneath. Putting that back together should be fun...

Re: What did you get done?

Well I decided to install a 4 inch lift on the 72 , rouch country all spring kit was very complete 4 springs,4 shocks with boots , steering stabilizer hardware. The job went quick with the torch. I will be buying longer brake lines as I hate extensions and drilling springs to add zerk fittings. Good deal for 600.00 tmd. will post pics later

Re: What did you get done?

Got my wiring all figured out and fixed and finally fixed the electric fan and ran the wiring in loom. The fan works great and the engine shuts right off now when the fan is running. Dumped the dino juice gear oil in the diff and filled it up with M1. The locker is clicking more but it's less harsh in a turn. I think I broke the 10th bearing retainer on my tranny it's sure acting like it. I'm not looking forward to another $68 retainer with a 2 week waiting period.

Re: What did you get done?

Well its not what I accomplished but what m wife did. I wasn't feeling well Friday so I went back to bed. She took my truck and went out best buy and had a new kenwood stereo installed in my truck. She went there and told them how much I hated best buy and told them they better not screw it up. She then left the truck there and walked home and went on here errands. Well I woke up and went outside and did not see my truck. So I thought my youngest had taken it and dropped his off at the shop, I called him and he said he thought his brother had borrowed it, well I then called him, he told me to call the wife - by this time I'm sweating bullets thinking someone stole it. Well I finally get my wife, who did not immediately answer her phone since she knew why I was calling. Long story short is that the whole family was in on it and pitched in and bought me a new stereo to replace my old stock one. What a doll she is. Oh we did go and purchase some material for my headliner.

Re: What did you get done?

Put my 20x8.5 and 20x10's with 275/45/20's and a 4" front drop on the Tahoe. I had a flip kit to install as well but it would have sat 2" lower in the back so I need to pick up a lift hanger so I can do the back as well.
