100% original, except paint, engine...

Thought this was an interesting listing. The very first line says that the rig is 100% original. Then, it says it is not the original paint/color (obvious by the firewall & dash board being a different color). Then it states how the trim was removed, engine replaced, different carb & intake, holes in the side panels, and some how, it has two tops, at least one is the original.

So basically, it is 100% original because it has hubcaps! 1972 Chevy K5 CST Blazer that has never been modified.100% stock right down too the hubcaps.

You've got it all wrong. That's the ultra-rare white exterior, white/yellow interior option. It'll only drive the price, not hurt it.

Re: 100% original, except paint, engine...

Actually it says, 100% stock, not 100% original. The add on stuff is nice, I'd like to have the woodgrain trim. It also looks to be highly optioned. I think it is a nice truck to start with, but not a 100% stone stock original. Quite frankly I'd have a hard time owning a stone stock original as they rode and drove terrible new. I'd own it and the tan exterior is easier on my eyes than canary yellow.

Does say 100% stock, but also says "never been modified". I'd have to disagree with that. Nice ride, but I'd prefer the yellow over the off-white. Should be interesting to see what it goes for, kind of a pain to transfer two tops.

Re: 100% original, except paint, engine...

Not saying is isn't a decent ride, I just think the wording in the listing is incorrect. It has been modified and it isn't 100% stock. Non original paint color, removed body moldings, a new engine, edlebrock carb & manifold are all "modifications" in my book.

It would make a great starting point for a project truck or a resto.

Re: 100% original, except paint, engine...

I think people just don't know or are trying to pull a fast one on ebay and this guy is maybe the first one. I am honest on the bay, but I suppose sometimes I have posted things the way I know them or thought to know them only to be corrected by an expert. This one is closer to stock than mine, that's for sure. I guess with the exception of the edelbrock stuff it is stockish. The very sad part of this is that someone will take the seller's word for it without ever knowing the truth. I'll keep mine as it is modified just the way I like it! I went back and looked over the picts again and it has an aftermarket stereo in it as well. I may post a question to the buyer, I am not a jerk or anything, I just wonder what his version of 100%stock is?

Re: 100% original, except paint, engine...

here's what I asked the seller, Bouncy again I agree with you and after typing and looking I am more on your side than before, this is clearly a modified Blazer, not 100% stock. I just wish people would list them as they sit and be honest without the used car salesman lingo, I'd feel more comfortable buying one that way.

Question posted by 70rs/ss to seller:
Not trying to nit pick, but your listing says 100% stock and this Blazer is not 100% stock. I like it, and I own 3, but stock is stock, meaning nothing has been changed or upgraded. In the picts and description you say the motor has been changed, it is repainted, has aftermarket carb and intake, stereo is not stock, etc. Again I am not knocking it, I just want you to know the mis-leading title and description may be keeping the bidding down.

Re: 100% original, except paint, engine...

Actually the posting says "VINTAGE 1972 K5 CHEVY BLAZER CST COMPLETE ALL ORIGINAL"

Here's his reply to 70rs/ss:
"You are correct It is not 100% stock however if I were trying too mis-lead people Why would I tell them about it. What I ment is the truck has never Been jacked up or altered. Most people care little about a radio or a stock motor swap.It should be obvious the carb and intake in truck are nothing serious. This is the 1st time I ever listed a car on Ebay. I did the best I could with the listing. If people have questions,I`m sure they will ask. Furthermore,If you start a conversation by saying I`m not trying to nit pick, you are. Thanks for your intrest and concerns"

Kinda getting mixed messages here. So, it's not orginal and it's really not stock....but hey, who cares...those are just words. geez...

Re: 100% original, except paint, engine...

It is stock by description, which is not usually the case with these.I mean it`s not customized or set-up for 4-wheelin`.But,when you use terms like 100%,absolute,never,you better be right. There`s no sorta in these words.

Re: 100% original, except paint, engine...

After his response, I'd say well I put 100% but I wasn't rying to mislead? I agree it is a nicer, mostly unmolested Blazer and I am usually one of the first guys to come to the defense of those being nit picked, but this guy clearly is trying to mislead. It also looks like some unsuspecting folks are biting. I better get the 67 clip aligned on my 72 and get it on ebay, as there is blood in the water and the sharks are a circling!!

Now that I have responded to this thread and read and reread his description I am more understanding of Bouncy's reason for posting. All in all the Blazer is pretty nice, but to put 100%, all "ORIGINAL" etc, etc you are going to draw critcism and he should be prepared. He is one of those sellers that claims, well you saw the picts, right? Meaning, I said original, but you saw the Edelbrock carb, different radio, etc but why do those changes matter? Well, your word is all you have to build trust in the vehicle, so use the truth and can the used car salesman lingo. When the description clearly does not match the product. Byer beware. Bouncy, good catch!

"Most people care little about a radio or a stock motor swap."

i've truned down "Nice" truck's because of a aftermarket radio.
