Buying guide

I'm thinking of buying a 72 ShortBox, I've found one but its a long distance transaction so I'm looking for a list of questions to ask. I would not pay the full amount till I got there, but I'm looking for a list of questions to help qualify before I fly out. What would your top 10 questions be?

Re: Buying guide

Welcome. The first most asked question would be about any rust issues.

Re: Buying guide

pictures are worth 1000 words. i would request that the seller put it on a hoist andtake several close up pics of the underside. cab supports inner rockers, floor boards and driveline for oil leakage

Re: Buying guide

Where is the truck located at, what type of options, pictures, where did you find out about it? I would love to look at it, and I am sure that if it was close to other board members they would check it out and give you an honest estimate of value and condition

Yeah, in the "Regions" forums on this board, you'll find a nice breakdown where it'd be easy to find out if anybody is close to the truck you want to buy. I'm looking at a truck in WA right now, and have a board member that is supposed to go look at it for me tomorrow.
