Anybody ever seen a crew cab stepside (4x4)? I would love to build one, would like to make it a SRW stepside 3/4 or 1 ton. I guess I would have to cut a one ton frame, or extend my 3/4 if that's possible. Probably more work that it's worth, but isn't that the way it goes? Wouldn't that be cool? I am thinking 79 style nose, bright red with a maroon interior, newer split bench seat in the front, bench in the rear. Any thoughts? Thanks guys!

I've never seen one like that. I have seen a crew cab fleetside SWB 4x4 and that was a sweet setup. I'm not sure if the longer cab may take away from the bed though. Maybe if someone could photoshop one that would help.

Maybe it's because of the huge lift or big tires but a Short Stepside bed just looks weird on a crew cab to me.

Hi Zip, thanks for the pic. That looks great to me. I agree, tires are too big. I am considering adding length to the middle of my 3/4 K20 frame, and cutting the tail to fit a stepside. Anybody have any experience with this?

I think it's because 46" tires look retarded on 15" rims as well as there isn't enough lift to make it work. I feel that any time you have a lifted truck it looks better if it's longer.

Tooo bad the pics suck. You could photochop it and see how it looks on the ground...

i am not a real big 4x4 fan but i like that truck, other than the marker lights, i would drive it around like it is without the marker lights though

I think the Chevy would be OK if it were a longbed Stepside maybe. The steps and fenders are too small for those tires.

The ATSF Railroad used to have some years ago for work trucks, but they never let them go until they were used up.

I was just about to bring that up but you beat me to it. It probably has a 350/700r4/208 combo to. I am surprised it can drive around with such weak parts.
