i have recently purchased a 71 c10.could anyone explain why the body is offset to chassis/axles.both front and rear.when veiwing the truck from the front the wheels are 3/4inch further out on the left hand side.the stud pattern is 5inch instead of 4.75inch.the truck is californian but now in england

English, welcome to the board.

As far as the wheel offset, I've had at least 10 of these trucks and the only one that had a similiar problem had a bent frame (had been involved in an accident). Mine was only the front, the back looked fine.

It is possible the cab and bed were removed and not lined up properly when reassembled, but I would inspect for signs of collision damage.

English - Two wheel drive truck wheels are 5 lug on 5 inch diameter. GM cars(most) are 5 lug on 4 3/4 inch. Some big Buicks and Caddys have 5 on 5 also. Before 1971 2wd drive trucks were 6 lug.

If the truck has been "lowered" it will push the rear axle over so you need to have an adjustable panhard bar,but have no clue why the frontend would do this unless like mentioned above the frames been bent.
