This should bring out the critics, but I am starting a project and am ready to purchase some wheels and tires. I am running 35'' tires of some sort and thought it would look good to run a set of 20'' rims.

Now I know this isn't the most popular and I personally dont even know if I am going to like it that is why I would like some pics before I drop a couple grand in tires and wheels so any help is appriciated. Some pics of 17'' and 18'' would also be helpful

if your gonna wheel it for real your supposed to have atleast twice as much tire as rim. so if you want 20" rims you should go with a 40" tire.

17's are ok in my book. They look different but not cartoonish. 18's to 20's and up just look too strange with large tires because the proportions are all goofed up. 40" tire on a 20" rim looks ok. But when you put a 35" tire on a 20" rim you end up with a 7.5 inch side wall vs a 10" side wall on a 15" rim.

Pro's, better handling due to the shorter side wall. Con's, less tire to protect the rim on impacts (rocks if those 20's ever saw dirt or potholes for the mall crawlers) and the cartoonish looks.

Everybody's got an opinion thats for sure. I think the only one I've seen on this site with 20's on a 4x4 is the guy with the completely restored 75 K5 show truck. (up for sale through barret jackson). Sweet K5 but the 20's just don't do it for me. But I will say it goes well with the show truck vibe he was shooting for.

A sweet look is new H2 rims on 37" tires. the H2's are 17". Looks good to me like torque thrusts on a street rod or muscle car.

Yeah,17`s ok.It`s only 1/2" more than a 16.5.The whole idea of tall wheel/low profile tire is a road racing concept so light`n`low sports cars will have less side deflection when crankin`out the "G"s on a curve at 150+ mph.For a 4wd,the needs are completely unrelated.You want sidewalls for cushion and flex.That`s performance to an off-road vehicle that`s heavy`n`high.
