?length of Wheel base for a 52 shortbed
Okay, I measured the 79 Malibu and got a wheel base of 108-9 inches. What is it for a short wheel base 52 1/2 ton?

Re: ?length of Wheel base for a 52 short bed
Hello David,
I have been looking into this with several options for my '56. I can't give you the dimensions for the AD Series (but I'm sure someone will chime in). The SWB for a 56 is stock about 114" if I remember correctly. 115" actually lines up better in the wheel well. If you can get within a few inches (which it appears you have, The rear leaf chassis I have looked at can simply have the rear leaf springs ant bump stops moved forward (or back). The blazers I looked at would not work w/o extending the frame because there was not enough frame behind the rear leaf mount to move it back 5". Is this one a coil rear? I wonder if the coil perches could be moved back as easy as leaf mounts? Rear frame length shouldn't be a problem with coils. Then of course theres the altered drive shaft to fit regardless what you choose to do. Cheers |
