Need Help With An 88 K2500

Hi all,
My brother just bought a 1988 k2500 that the engine and transmission was in boxes so to speek. Anyway everything has been put back together and back in place but when we were hooking up the distributor we found a plug that had been hooked up to something but we dont know what. I dont have pics. of it but I can tell you that it comes out of the big wiring harness that goes behind the engine and is the one that the dizzy gets it's power from. The connector is oval shaped, its color is orange,it has two wires going to it, a pink w/black stripe and an orange wire. They are offset in the connector. I looked in the haynes manual but there is nothing there about it. Can somebody tell me what it connects to or any info that might be of some help would be greatly appreciated.

Pictures would help with this one. It could be almost anything. Does the truck have A/C? Could it be for the plug on the condensor? It could be O2, but usually they are one wire. Unless it is a heated sensor.

Like I said, a pic would be helpful.

Re: Need Help With An 88 K2500

I talked to my buddy at work who has a 89 4x4, he just did an engine swap also and he said it may be the oil preasure sending unit that's on the intake manifold next to the dizzy. My brothers was broken off so hee just plugged the hole with a fitting. From the way my buddy described the fitting on his it sounds just like what we're looking for. Thanks again.

I Looked Over My Books And Didnt See A Connector With The 3 Wires With Pink W/black Stripe And Orange Wire. I Did See A Pink One That Said It Went To A Fusible Link. Steve

I may have been unclear on that connector, Let try to explain it again. It only has 2 wires, 1-orange and 1-pink with black stripe. See if there is a oil preasure sensor or switch on the top of the engine. Its on the drivers side one the back side of the intake.Thats all the info I have and the haynes manual dont show anything. Thanks again.
