Exclamation duel tanks?

can anyone tell me if the 67-72 pickups came with duel tanks? also what si that sqaure metal door i c on some pics of those year trucks, is it the second tank fuel door?

My 72 came with two tanks but was an option!

Not sure when,but they became an option during this body-style(driver side).The doors you see are from aftermarket installations.The factory responded to demand by adding the option.Here`s the factory aux.tank on a`72:

the square cover you are refering to are dealer installed units. Stock ones have a pipe coming out the bed side with a cap much like the normal in-cab unit.

thanks, tho it looks like i may end up with an 83 chevy 3/4 hd(guess i shoulda said i was looking for a 67-72) as there easy to come bye. (less desirable but u can't have everything in life)

(aux fuel tanks) My current bed has a hole and cover on each side for this but my truck does not have them nor will I get them. The new bed I am going for does not have this. I am thinking of re-mounting the little acccess doors just to keep the look. I dought I will. Cool thread!
