lokar TH400 kickdown vs stock

I'm swapping a 454/TH400 into my 67 and was wondering if everybody recommends the Lokar TH400 kickdown setup over the stock kickdown, or viceversa?

Thanks

I love the lokar setup took like 30 minutes to install looks cool and works flawless easy to adjust also. Can not speak on the stock one never used it. Also use lokars bracket with it.

I got the Lokar shifter rod but never put the kickdown back on. It seems I never use it, If i want it to kickdown I just pull her down to 2nd manualy. M2C

I used the kit on my big block truck. I really liked it and felt it was well worth the money.

I mounted the box to two of the trans pan bolts. That made the wiring simple, as it was a short jog over to the trans connector from there.

Install the cable, cut it to length, and enjoy.

Re: lokar TH400 kickdown vs stock

I was asking about the kick down because a guy locally says he has an original kick-down setup that he wants to sell me. I told him I was thinking of running the lokar setup because I've heard good things about it in here. He then told me he has ran both and thought the original setup is far better. He said the lokar setup is built kind of cheap. I'm just trying to see if he has a valid argument or if he is just trying to sell his stuff.

Thanks again, and keep any other responses coming

Re: lokar TH400 kickdown vs stock

Would the lokar setup work with a LS1 and TH400?

Lokar products are certainly not cheap quality. In my opinion, Lokar is pretty much one of the highest quality product lines anywhere. I've used a variety of their stuff.

Re: lokar TH400 kickdown vs stock

I used the Lokar set up on my 72 when I switched from a th350 to a th400. It was easy to install and adjust. Been a while now and no problems. I would definitely recommend it.
