WTB Clearance lights

Looking for a set of 5 stock style clearance light assemblys. Not too worried about the lenses, they could be the domed style, but hockey pucks would be even better.
Complete set shipped to 43228?

Is this some of what you are looking for? Notice the attempt to try and make all parts on Ebay sound like they are for 67-72 trucks...more $$$$.
These are actually for a 73+ but will work OK on our trucks.
The real original "hockey puck" lens are priceless!

Re: WTB Clearance lights

Frank: So the lenses in the ebay link aren't for 69-72? It seems like you always see them on the cabs with the raised pads? So if a cab had raised pads, it originally had hockey pucks on it??

Longhorn Man: I've got an NOS set, in their original boxes, like the ones in the link that Frank posted that I would probably sell. Seems like there was a wire harness with them too, but don't hold me to that. P.M. me if you're interested.

This style has been on every 71-72 I have owned with clearance lights. I doubt they were changed out on a 40,000 mile motorhome where they had been protected from sun and damage for their entire life.

Like I also had on a post a long time ago, you can get that ebay style of lense and pad at Napa. It is the exact same lense as the GM part and even has the GM part number in the lense.

Re: WTB Clearance lights

I think this is the correct original cab lens for our trucks. The others are later model and sold as "replacements" for our trucks...

Re: WTB Clearance lights

we need to find a 71/72 truck add to see what they have on top, domes or hockey puck. I like the pucks better, and mine is a 70, so the puck would be correct... but hell, my truck has a caddy engine and later console....ect, correctness isn't very important anymore.
The one on e-bay looks killer, but interestingly, there's no bulb sockets in them. (???)
Husker... PM sent
Chevy fan... let me know what you find... and pics too if you have the means.

If anyone just has the bases in good shape, that'd work too. Complete prefered, but bare would probably work. I forgot napa carried the lenses.

The truck I bought from JOESJUNK has the non-hockey puck style. I also have a 71 Longhorn that has the same ones.

Re: WTB Clearance lights

My truck had 3 hockey pucks and 2 of the newer "torpedo" style.
the hockey pucks were all cracked by where the screws go into the roof, and when I took one off to change a bulb it crumbled in my hand.

I went to the JY and found an '80s chevy C10 that was a bare bones truck (250/3 on the tree) except for the lights, and I nabbed them for pretty cheap. I mean the rubbers, lenses, and screws.

Re: WTB Clearance lights

I've been in the parts book (1979 update), but it is hard to read.
It listed #5961757 (hockey puck) as the original lens for 70-72 then the new #684662 (later smooth) as the new replacement number...but, if there are that many old trucks with the later lens...maybe.

The lens for the chrome lights stayed the same.

Re: WTB Clearance lights

The Federal Mogal part number for the 71 and up style of lights is 1313A and that would be the lense and the base. And I think that 684662 is the number in the lense to this date.

Re: WTB Clearance lights

Come to think of it,the all-original `70 C/30 I owned had the rounded lenses.I think the pucks were`69-only,maybe a few carry overs.Within the later rouded lenses there are two different patterns for ribs or whatever you call them. The earliest ones were in a criss-cross pattern and the later were all inline, front to back,IIRC.

My 70 c30 motorhome has the puck style. they are original. the overhead camper sat too close to them to even unscrew them if I wanted too before I tore it (camper) off.
