Front driveshaft questions
I have a 72 blazer 4wd w/350/350np205. The front driveshaft looks like the pic. My questions are how do I get the u-joint ass'y apart, what's the rig in the center called and where can I buy one?
Oh yeah are the splines on the other end supposed to be tapered? BTW credits to JYJ for the pic.

Re: Front driveshaft questions
If your'e talking taking the double cardan joint apart, it will take patience and lots of cuss, but there not as bad as you will think. As long as the stub on the driveline is good, no problem, if the small yoke (the one with the bolts in it) with the ball inside is bad, it should be available at napa.
Pull the outer u-joint apart first from the cage, then pull the small inner yoke out, it has a small spring under it pushing it outward, the joint should fall out of the yoke. Remove the rear joint from the cage first, be careful of the stub on the shaft end, remove the joint from the driveline last. Assembly is the reverse. The biggest pain is that spring pushing out, and getting the yoke ball back on the stub without knocking a needle down. Good luck
