3 on the tree bolts?
Is there a specific bolt and nut that holds the shifter arm to the column.. I just have a bolt and nut, and it doesnt fit right it just keeps wiggling and gettting lose till the nut falls off...I have tried washers and geting it tight as hell... but the part on the column that has the hole is rounded and a nut cant fit flush.........is there a special washer or nut for this?

Re: 3 on the tree bolts?
wish i could help ya - i gave my shifter linkage away recently. I remember removing it with a wrench - I believe it is a nut.

Re: 3 on the tree bolts?
I don't know how to explain how it's held in there. Mine is held in with a C-shaped hollow cylinder of some sort. Looks almost like a miniature tie rod sleeve.

Re: 3 on the tree bolts?
I have not looked at one for a while, but I swear mine just had a compression pin to hold the lever onto the column. Someone maye have used nut and olt as a substitute when the pin was broken or lost.

Re: 3 on the tree bolts?
You're screwed, ya nut! Get it?!? Oh, sometimes I crack myself up!
Seriously though, it's a compression fit and something I'm dealing with myself on my Camaro. Really, the only thing you can do is get a new column part and a new roll pin thingy. Or maybe use epoxy and glue the bolt and nut onto the column part if this is just a work truck. Btw, I happen to be selling that column part for $5 + shipping if you're interested. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=191897
