Steering adjustment ??? again

Hey Guys, I saw this question last week but not sure I understand how to move the column forward. Also I found a tilt steering column in the junkyard but it had a Buick steering wheel on it, does any of the older buicks have tilts that would work or did somebody just put a buick wheel on it.
Also how did you guys make the slots longer on the the column. I'm thinking of going and getting the column I saw so that I can have tilt.Is there anything I need to look out for?. Thanks for the help.
