Exhaust Wrap???
Well Im getting even closer now to getting the 327 stuffed back in my 67. I just got my hooker headers from ebay today. Before I install them I was thinking about wrapping the headers with one of the kits available from eastwoods. Has anyone out there done this to theirs and if so how well did it work and does it lead to premature deterioration of the headers?

if you can buy it from eastwood you can find it elsewhere for half the price from a company that doesn't print catalogs every 3weeks

That will cut the life span of your headers by 1/2, maybe even more. Not a good idea for a street bound vehicle. If you are doing an all out race effort, with every little bit of power to be had, then they are worth installing.

i bought it for my vett last year while i had it tore down ss ties wrap and silicone coating. then when i put it back togather i decided not to use it. i blasted my headers and 2 coats of aluminum high temp por. it looks much nicer but probably don't help to keep under hood and int. heat down as well as the wrap would have, thats what i was thinking when i bought it. not the thing for a leaker though. i know a guy who had it on a 4x4 with leaky valve covers it got saturated and cought fire

i hear they promote holding water to the header and will rust em out and kill em 4x faster than driving on salted roads will.
