P/s Pump Bracket

I ordered a p/s pump, box, hoses and a bracket from Brothers but the bolts on the bracket hit the alternator belt, anyone have the correct bracket, the one that bolts to the block and the motor mount

Re: P/s Pump Bracket

So the bolts are too long? Looks like they won't thread in all the way?

-EDIT-

Oh, I see now, the belt there would rub on them...geeze...kind of kills any help I could give, I mounted my alt on the other side..

Re: P/s Pump Bracket

My guess would be, you need a p/s pulley that has two grooves.

Re: P/s Pump Bracket

Hey Jim. Is it possible for you to email me a couple pics that show your alt. bracket set up as well. It seems that your alt. braket may be the issue. It is hard to tell from the pics you posted.

Thanks,

Re: P/s Pump Bracket

WoW, with a response like that from Brothers, I think that I am going to choose them over other vendors? Man great to see that they are on the board and supportive. They didn't have to.

Wow, that's a great site. I was a little surprised at the price but not too much. Thanks for sharing that.

Re: P/s Pump Bracket

They're a little different. The brackets are made from 1/4" steel...made to fit that is.

Re: P/s Pump Bracket

Hey Jim, did you get the clearance issue solved. By the pics you posted it looked like you need to change your alt bracket. By moving it up or down by an inch or so should have given you plenty of room. Let us know what you have done.
Thanks,

Re: P/s Pump Bracket

I can't see all of the pics of all of your brackets, etc, but I can see that the pulleys are not stock swp.
When you mix parts from several different combinations, you run into compatibility problems. There are three different bracket sets, three different offsets on stock pulleys...etc...etc.
You have a choice: run all stock parts from the same vehicle/engine or keep buying, trading and trying to get enough parts to eventually get it all to line up.
Here's two of our systems. Maybe some of these pics will help.
