Re: Trim or no Trim
Eh -- depends on the truck. On my old stock LWB, the trim is there and I prefer it that way, otherwise there's just acres of uninterrupted sheet metal. On a SWB truck, especially a nice clean mild street custom, no trim would be better.

Re: Trim or no Trim
On a 67-68 swb, no trim. On anything 69 up, I like full trim and 2 tone paint.

Re: Trim or no Trim
I agree with HeavyD, if using trim on a 69-72 -- 2 tone it. A 69 Seafoam and white took the show last weekend. Gorgeous truck. The tailagate letters were seafoam and the steel ralley type wheels were seafoam.

Re: Trim or no Trim
I like the trim on the 2 wheel drives but on the 4 wheel drives I like the smooth look or just the bottom trim.

Re: Trim or no Trim
No trim, unless there is a style that glues on and doesent allow anything to get behind it. Holes drilled for trim are just starting points for rust.

Re: Trim or no Trim
I currently have the lower trim on the truck. It is going back on, but I am still debating adding the upper trim also. Since I am not planning mine to be 2-tone, I have not made my final decision yet on the upper, but I do like the lower on it.

Re: Trim or no Trim
I like trim on 67/68 . I have a love / hate relationship with trim on 69/72 . It has to be high quality and lined up correctly to look good , imo .

Re: Trim or no Trim
just proving 71-72 shortbeds look good with lower trim only. the first pic is has 88-98 trim. the gold and white 4 door is a 50th anniversary paint job which all 68s should have to look good in my opinion.

Re: Trim or no Trim
I like to have trim on my trucks. It protects the paint somewhat from those Bozo's that don't know how to open their doors in the parking lot.

Re: Trim or no Trim
Rust pockets is all that trim is good for, if your restoring your ride, and you don't prep the inside of the panels correctly, then rust , rust, rust, from the inside out.
I doo like the looks of them though

I like the look of no trim. I think my truck looks smooth and clean without it.
