removing wood grain from dash bezel???

I just got a bezel in the mail today I won in an ebay auction, it had the stock woodgrain on part of it, how can I remove it with out cracking it? it seems to be slightly glued, I was thinking about putting it in the oven for a few minutes. Anyone removed these before with out damage? I'll try and post pics, it's a 75-76 bezel.

You might be able to find someone on this board who would trade a good non-woodgrain one for yours. I got a feeling you start pulling the woodgrain off of yours, you might not like the results.

hair dryer should work great. it'll release the adhesive as you gently tug it away, then clean up. don't try the oven, though. you might end up with dashboard soup.
