Exclamation Woogeroo's Wilde Ride - aka dude where's all my brakes!?

Woogeroo's Wild Ride - aka where's all my brakes!?

Disneyworld has nothing on me!

So I was on the way to the hank III show in downtown Atlanta in big blue '65 c10 truck... vrooommm....

I go around a turn and hit the brake pedal... nothing. as scooby would say: ruh roh!

I grab emergency brake(good thing I installed that)... brrrrrrrr stop.

now. what in the.... !#$!??

I'm wiggling pedal... has goofy feel to it... I reach down and the end of the threaded rod thign - that twists in to the part that botl to the pedal... well it ain't connected no mo'.

so I go to limp it on back home (half mile) with e brake and flashers(good thing I wired them up also) on...

long scary story short : slowly coming down the hill going toa 3 way , left or right... riding the e brake I pull on it and the cable tbue/sheathing is no longer being grabbed by that bracket under the steering column - therfore the brake cable is having no tension on it... oh no - here we go again!

so I do some fast thinkin' - go around the turn.. and turn the wheel backa nd forth over the road trying to break momentum... which helped... then I rolled it up into the front yard which is a hill thankfully.

yeesh.

that was a lill too excitin' for me.

The Hank III concert was a lot of fun tho'.

I guess I have more wrenchin' in my near future...

any tips, tricks, things to double, triple check is welcome...
