Need help?
Hello all,
Been a while. I need some help? My engine was rebuilt by the previous owner and my block number is no longer stamped where it should be. I found the Bureau of Automotive repair/engine Identification tag. Is there a way to decode this to discover what the original block number was? OR Is there a place I can go to research it here on the web? I did go to the Bureau's site and it was not helpful. Thanks for the help!! Respectfully

Re: Need help?
Everybody will tell you to look on the block on the left side rear of the engine and you will see a casting number. It will look like this ( 3970010 ) if it is still there . The numbers are about a 1/2 inch long and should be easy to see after you clean the crud off. When you can read them then go to this website,http://www.mortec.com/.

Re: Need help?
Thanks for the info. I thought the number was on the front only. I will look and get back to you.
