Re: 4X4 Rear Bumper bracket question
Mine (71 gmc 4x4)mount on the outside of the frame rail, with the smooth angle on the bottom facing the outside of the bed. I'm at work, so no pics. Mine have 3 pairs of mounting holes, and are using the farthest torward the cab and the 3rd from cab. Pm me if you would like pics tomorrow. My son's 72 4x4 is welded to the bumper. Hope this helps, Al

Re: 4X4 Rear Bumper bracket question
Is your truck a long or shortbed? I am asking because the longbed uses the standard sport bumper brackets. The 4x4 shortbed and 2wd short leaf truck use brackets that are unique to both of those models. I can take pics of mine tomorrow if you need the shortbed version.

Re: 4X4 Rear Bumper bracket question
Great link, it shows the view pretty clearly, the only difference would be
the 72 Blazers, the have rounded frame ends and no center brackets *I realize you have a truck, just pointing this information out for others

Re: 4X4 Rear Bumper bracket question
People make the mistake of trying to install the inner brackets strait inside the frame, when they are supposed to be installed at about a 20 degree angle. These are both style rear bumper brackets. The 4x4 ones are hard to see because the frame is painted and I have the hidden hitch installed. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com

The problem I'm having is that the rivits are now grade 8 bolts, and I can't seem to get the brackets around them... It's encouraging to know I was close with the angle, though If you have or can get more pics, please do, these are helpful! Thanks!
