Hood latch mod

I decided to modify my hood latch to an inside the cab release following the lead of putter and others. There are several ways of going about this, this is mine.

Re: Hood latch mod

Kewl, I suppose one could do the same with a GMC hood latch, even though the release handle is offset. Looks good, prevents theft!!

Re: Hood latch mod

so the release lever is still there, does it function? you see the 2 holes in the lever? i stuck a long carriage bolt through it so after a 1/16 of an inch the bolt hits the top plate and doesn't allow the release to move. then i ran a cable much like you did. my way can revert back to stock by just taking the carriage bolt out.

The release cable only actuates the main hood latch. The release lever is the secondary catch and needs to be activated to open the hood.
