95 3/4 ton suburban questions
My father in law gave me his old burb since he got a new one,i dont know much about it.except it was having some problems staying running i looked at it a while ago and i could get it started but it was running real rough, and when you gave it gas it hesitated and felt like it was going to stall every time you gave it gas you could only move it about 20' then it would stall out.it has a small block i guess its a 5.7,with auto trans.does anyone know what trans and tranfercase came with these trucks? I need to have it towed back to my house so i can look at it.where should i start to find the problem?any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: 95 3/4 ton suburban questions
Not sure on the transfer case, but the trans is most likely a 4L60E, an electronically controlled 700R4 basically.
I would check into the basics first: plugs, wires, cap, rotor, etc. Check the fuel pressure, compression, and timing. Is the check engine light on? If so, read the codes and see what's going on. You may actually get more help with this in the newer trucks section (88-98 I think?). I know it's just listed for pickups, but your Burb will share the same drivetrain.
