Noise Question -- The solution

A few weeks back I posted a question about a loud sheet metal like noise when I ran my truck. I had put my motor, crate with about 5000 miles on it, into my new truck. I had changed the frame, cab, bed and transmission, all sorts of stuff. All of the replies that I got were good ideas that could have been the answer, but weren't. This afternoon I found the problem. My old truck had been 2 wd with a TH 350 transmission. I went to a 4wd with a 4 speed manual. I had replaced the flex plate with a flywheel. It seems that when I bolted the flywheel to the crankshaft the bolts were a bit too long, like 3/32, and where they protruded through the bottom of the crankshaft they touched the piece of sheet metal through which the starter motor goes. It only pressed against them when the flywheel cover was bolted down. I was really pleased to have found it and wanted to share my success. I am, at present, enjoying a beer.
