Need help on repairing a factory Tilt column

Does anyone know if the upper housings of a van tilt are the same as the factory truck tilts? I have located a factory tilt column that is dented on the housing where the turn signal goes and the turn signal cam harness has been cut off. The automatic column shifter lever is gone and the hole for the pin seems like it was enlarged, so I think that housing needs replacing as well. Looks like they removed the shifter when converted to manual tranny with a floor shift. The tilt action is nice and tight but the spring action is weak and doesn't spring up like it should. The rest of the column looks real good. Would this be worth buying even if it's for parts? Can this column be repaired using later model van parts?

Thanks

Re: Need help on repairing a factory Tilt column

Their is a guy in Tomball Texas who rebuilds columns. His name is Pat.PM for his phone number. I don't think he minds if I gave out his phone but one never knows anymore.
