Lambo doors anyone?

I was reading a forum over on MySpace and ran across a guy that installed Lambo doors on his classic GMC....

And I know Krue will read it just because it is about a GMC!

I got a message from him this morning asking me HOW I knew about his truck. He stated that he had never posted photos ANYWHERE of it.
I advised him of this board, and that if there was a unique truck out there, somebody has seen it!

So, here are two photos of the truck. Not very large and the quality is not the best, but it is good enough to give you the idea.

Interesting...

Not my cup of tea, but someone did a lot of work on that truck.

Thumbs down Re: Lambo doors anyone?

I think I've met this guy. He has a body shop in the South Houston area. The truck is a twenty footer, I can bet that underneath that bed cover is the origional color of the truck and not the color on the outside....as for the lambo's, I'm about to lose my breakfast, later.

Re: Lambo doors anyone?

A local body shop just put Lambo doors on a new Stang convertible, after a week, the owner came back to the shop wanting to have them returned back to original

Did you happen to notice the removal of the wing vents and the 88-98 mirrors?

Re: Lambo doors anyone?

I saw the post and was interested in the subject till I saw who posted! Then I thought to myself, "Has Putter lost his freakin' mind?". I relieved when I realized you wasn't requesting info on how to do it.

I just don't like that at all. It just looks out of place. Suicide maybe but not Lambo!

Ok, so we inform him of this board, then we cast disparaging remarks about his truck? Granted its not mainstream, but isn't that the essence of "custom"?

yes, in fact i was going to post about it, but wanted to read down and make sure nobody else posted about it.

I thought it was a "cool" idea until I saw how sloppy that was done. Why not save the money and bodywork and just buy a GD 1pc window kit? what's up with the big bobo-eared mirrors? go 1pc window and lexus ES300 mirrors.

not my cup of tea. not sure how you get into it, but someone had to if it was driven to the show. maybe they just "Duke boy" it.

(ps - gotta agree with CPNE - while it seems the be the norm to shred anything original around here ... think about the bigger picture, guys!)

Oooops. I forgot. Opinions aren't welcome.

If I did something ridiculous, not saying he did, to my truck I would expect my fellow auto enthusiast to bring it to my attention. Corrective critism. I don't always have to agree.

Can you honestly say this is a positive and constructive thread?

A bunch of guys sitting around picking apart another persons truck doesn't do a bit of good....and I am sure if you came into a conversation (that was already well underway) where people were picking apart your truck...you wouldn't be all that pleased either.

These types of threads don't make sense to me...does it just make everyone feel better about themselves or their trucks??

I always give a thumbs to anyone willing to do their own thing. Especially stuff that's sure to upset the masses.

Someday when the 350 dies maybe I'll throw in a Ford engine and post pics one here.

That's after I slam my 4x4 XJ and post it on Jeepforums.com

Re: Lambo doors anyone?

Okay, I re-read, then I edited my posts as not to sound negative. I greatly admire him for even trying something outside of what we consider the "norm" for our era trucks. I had a hard enough time getting my regular doors to line up. I can't imagine trying it when the door pivots in every direction!!!

Actually I never said anything about positive or constructive. I said "corrective".

I do care what others think of my truck but ultimately it's for me and if you don't like something about it that would be fine. If you wanted to tell me or anyone else what you didn't like that would be fine. I would welcome your opinions. Heck, you might even influence my opinion. All I'm saying is if your skin is thin, you might want to stay inside because somebody will say something that's going to piss you off. On the other hand, smile it off and accept someone elses opinion.

Re: Lambo doors anyone?

All I am saying is what is the purpose of picking apart someones truck?? If they want opinions on it they will ask for it...they should be forced upon.

Last time I checked, he isn't a member here, didn't post his truck here, or ask for opinions on it....but we are all voicing our opinion of it (and not in a positive way).

Last time I checked, this isn't what adults typically do....kids maybe.

This site is intended to be a resource, for everyone to come here, learn a few things, and have a good time. Tones like this don't encourage people to join and won't keep people around.
