Re: tire pressure

It depends upon the tire size/load rating and the load being carried.
Yes they should be checked cold.

Re: tire pressure

I am a tire pressure freak, the guys who change my oil hate me, I go
around and double check them, and the spare before I leave, it never
has really worked out for me, but by doing this combined w/ my wife's
driving, we achieved 95K miles out of her first set, and are very close
to passing 50K on this set and they still look like brand new, my rules
of thumb are this, if it's 35, go 30, if it's 44, go 40, I never go by the
stickers on the door pillars or any of that other manufacturers stuff,
and I rotate in the "X" configuration, just my way, not "The Way" &
I will get ya a 50K pic when she gets home, almost unbelievable

Lightbulb Re: tire pressure

It really depends how they're rated. Some tires are raed as "max pressure". Those should be set at a few (4-5) psi below the max when cold. Some tires are rated as "xx psi cold". Those should be set to the indicated pressure when cold.
