Rear parking brake cables

I need some rear parking brake cables, but it seems there are 2 different versions..

part# BC92416 $11.57; Description - "127" Wheel Base,Except Leaf Springs OR Except Turbo-Hydramatic,115" Wheel Base,Except Leaf Springs OR Turbo-Hydramatic,115" Wheel Base,Except Leaf Springs"

OR--

part# BC92505 $26.79; Description - "Coil Springs"

There's a pretty big price difference... anyone know which ones I need? My truck is a 68 and has a TH-350

Re: Rear parking brake cables

If you have coil springs you will need the $27 cable. I had to get them for my truck last year (70 SWB chevy w/coils)

Re: Rear parking brake cables

Are those GM part numbers? They don't look like it.
I was thinking of going through inline tube for my cables, where are these through?

The $12 cable is 29 9/16" long

The $27 cable is 31 7/16" long...

That's quite a price difference... think I can make the shorties work???

I think the set from Inlinetube is $45 -- if I HAVE to get the ones that are $27 each from Rockauto, I'll probably just get the ones from inline tube....

However..... if the $12-ea. rock auto specials will work, I think the choice is obvious

I would do something as simple as measure my old ones, but they were hacked off right infront of the backing plate when the rear was transplanted into my truck by the Prev. owner.

Re: Rear parking brake cables

I bought some steel cable and 4 clamps (2 on each side). I used #8 I think it was. Got it from Home Depot for a couple bucks. I couldn't get anyone at Napa, Autozone, or Schucks that could find the part listed, so I made my own. Works well, but it's ghetto for sure.
