Parts Score!!!!!!!

Well, I got a new t-case today. NP205 hooked to a SM465 for 50 bucks. Plus, I got the driveshafts. (not sure it I can use them, 1/2 ton with smaller u-joints, front drive shaft is a homemade disaster) Tranny shifts kinda sloppy, but the t-case seems to be tight. Going to clean it off tomorrow, and maybe take a peek inside it to look at the guts.

It came out of a 70 Chevy half ton 4x4 that was used as a plow buggy, so the truck was in pretty rough shape. It had a 292 in it, and has these really cool 292 emblems under the C/10 emblems on the fenders. The guy said I could take whatever I wanted off from it, if my dad would cut the front axle out for him. So I'm planning on robbing the power steering off of it, and maybe a few other things.

So I had a good day, and I skipped school, that made it even better.

Re: Parts Score!!!!!!!

just make sure the drive sleeve and the tranny output are in good shape before you slap that in your truck, and it sounds like you are good to go!

Re: Parts Score!!!!!!!

Well, it was lengthened out/ gumped by someone else. It wasn't professionally done, and it's froze up solid.
The sleeve is in good shape. I pulled a couple of covers off from the t-case, and the gears are like new. So I'm pretty happy. Excpet tonight when I pulled the cover there where the speedo gears are, all the needle bearings fell out from the back bearing. I think I retrieved most of them though.
